Will, the ZR1 17x11" have a 36mm offset and I believe the GS 17X11" have a 56mm offset. I have seen ZR1's run the 17x11" wheels on all four corners with no issues, but I'm not sure about the C5 fitment. You might want to check with www.afswheels.com they can steer you in the right direction on the fitment. They sell ZR1, GS, and Z06 reproduction wheels. Hope this helps, 84 CF 91 ZR1
I've seen guys at the track use the ZR1/GS wheels (if they are all the same size and offset) on their C5's with 335's in the rear. They stick out a bit in the rear, but that's fine for the track IMO. I wouldn't drive with that set up on the street though.
You know.. I think that I have a photo of a C5 Coupe with these wheels at Road America. Give me a few and I'll upload it.
So this is what i have found out so far...
Even though allot of people use the GS and ZR1 labels interchangably they are very different. (even though they look identical)
all are 17"
ZR1 rims: fits 84-87 vette and ZR1's
Size, Offset
F:9.5, 38
R: 11, 36.5
Grand Sport: 88-96 vette
F:9.5, 56
R: 11, 50
Now from what i understand most people use the GS rim with 17x11's on all 4 corners of a C-5. They don't or barely stick out, the only caveate is that you can't turn full lock in front.
My next question is why hasn't anybody tried the ZR1 17x11 rims up front? It seems this would be a good trade off, stick out a bit ~1/2 inch and should not rub. Is something wrong with the scrub of the wheel not being centered or does it rub somewhere else?
X,
Judging by how much those stick out and the color combo i would suggest the rears are ZR1's (17x11, 36.5mm offset) and the fronts are also ZR1's (17x9.5, 38mm offset). I say this b/c they look identical to the combo sold on ebay and labeled properly as ZR1's.
I have seen some GS rims and they are flush with the rear fender.
I thought that they were both the same. These wheels looked like the GS wheels to me because they are black. I have no idea how wide they are, but I do know that he had 335's on the rear.
This set up would be fine for the track IMO, but not for the street. In addition to most likely chipping up your paint, it just doesn't look good to me.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.
Edit: I just looked at the first photo again with the closeup of the rear wheel. Look at the rear rotor at about 9 o'clock. Check out the crack in the rotor. I think that this was taken early Sunday, so I wonder how many more times he ran on these rotors.

That is a huge crack. For it to get that size he must have been running on it for a while and NOT feel it with his foot on the brake peddle or HEAR the noise it makes.

Can we say Rabestos Rotors from Rockauto or NAPA??
I think this also shows the importance of looking at your brake rotors between each run durnig take days.
The GS rims are not flush in the rear of a C5. They stick out about a half inch compared to the stock tires. The ZR1 rims stick out about an inch total.

I always do. It's a ritual for me. I always check lug torque, tire pressures and inspect the wheels, tires and rotors.
I would never use cross drilled rotors for the track. Rotors crack bad enough without cross drilling.
On topic: Aren't these the GS wheels? Why would someone buy a set of ZR1 wheels for track use and then paint them black and leave a polished lip like the GS wheel? I wouldn't bother if they were just track wheels.
