Default Discovery Channel looking to buy project Corvette

Hello everyone, a brand new show on Discovery is looking for a '59 or '60 project Corvette, preferably a barn car to buy. Anyone know anyone that has one tucked away somewhere? Thanks.

Not a 59 or 60, but it was in a barn.....

If that question was directed to me, no, I don't - not affiliated with the car in any way shape or form. Just drawing the connection between car needed / car available on the forum. My guess is that the contact details are embedded in the Craigslist ad somewhere, didn't really read it in detail.

I know of a 58 an elderly lady has that is complete but everything needs attention. She is probably not gonna sell it but she would probably loan it to be used for a tv restoration job. It sure would make her happy to see it restored. She has owned it since 1963 and it has been sitting since 79 or 80.

Wow... sitting since 79 or 80, that's a shame.

How about a '58?

I believe this one is still for sale.

I can pass on the owner's details if you wish.

Corvette Lisa: Would it be unfair to ask what your affiliation with Discovery Channel is?

Corvette Lisa, what is the name of this new show? Does Discovery have a preference for where the project car is located? How much body work are they prepared to have done? Are they looking to do a correct restoration or build a driver/hot rod?

Thanks, Doug

Default project wanted

I'm starting to think this ad is bogus or just fishing for information. I emailed "Lisa" on PM with some info and the only response I got was she is not an expert, but her co-worker is a car expert and did I know if any 59 or 60's were for sale. No specifics on condition, engine etc.

How about a 54? It is a fresh barn/ garage find that had been sitting for 37 years?

Skeptical as ever, I'd say this is pure BS. 1) no more posts by "Lisa" 2) who would have landed a decent job working production on a show for Discovery that did not bother to put together a polished appeal on this forum? You get a few teasing questions on the starting thread. 3) what legitimately interested corporate party would not give their office number? I am always suspect when you can't easily pick up the phone and discuss a car deal.

It seems like this week it has been scam after scam topic on the CF... maybe the weather has been lousy in Nigeria, forcing people back to their computers to hunt the unsuspecting.

Lisa, if you're out there... prove us wrong! It would be interesting to see what plans you have in mind.

So what is the motive? Behind every good scam there is some reward for the scammer.

Would people just send him their 58's and expect money to (never) arrive via cheque?
