Default 66 Vert

I'm not a convert fan (Canada, you know), but this is one of the best looking vehicles that have come to this forum for a long time and even impressed me as a convertible. Tough market times, hope you find someone looking to spend the 94K! Great car, good luck with the sale.

I read the whole thing and actually learned something. Very nice corvette, good luck

Thanks for the encouragement and compliments.

I had not until now noticed the license plate on the second to last picture showing Barbara Ross kneeling with her trophies.

PDQ2 - Pretty Darn Quick too!

I would agree with that!!

Also, it looks like she has the window sticker, Warranty Booklet and Owners Manual at her side in the box.

Default GM Docs

Have the P-O-P with warranty card in Barbara Ross's name. If you look hard enough in the picture with her kneeling, you can see her name on the sign in the windshield. This picture was taken in the early 1980s I believe.

No response back as far as what you will take? Hey fine with me obviously you don't need to sell the car since it's been for sale on here for literally YEARS and all over the internet...if the entire world is seeing it for yeras and it isn't selling HELLO it's over priced.

not trying to be rude just saying I'm a serious buyer but your in la la land with the price. If you want to get serious let me know but theres plenty of other l72's so not begging. take care.

I even said it seems to be a very nice car but very nice original vs body off ncrs restored one for the same money give me the restored correctly one all day long therefore I can't give you 94k for it when yes it's very nice original but not frame off restored.

I have seen you have this car for sell for like 2 years so if you're really wanting to sell it let's talk.

"Matching Numbers" is not necessarily the original engine and there are a lot of so-called matching number cars with correct restoration engines or were formerly 327CI cars. Lot's of fake P-O-Ps also. Set aside the low mileage and long-time one owner that add to the value of my car.

so what price are you thinking? we can talk I'm a serious buyer I have money but that car isn't worth the 94k asking price as my 60 isn't gonna bring my 50k asking price and I know that. So I hope I didn't make you mad by my offer but I will talk price with you what you thinking as a actual make the hand shake deal price? thanks

so just offering a starting point.

94k is way out of the ballpark for it.

First off would you be at all intrested in a trade for my 69 convertible 4sp tripower 400hp air car? It is all matching original with some freshing up but not body off restored. It has had one repaint and when engine was pulled and freshened up engine bay detailed the car is also a head rest car it's code correct silver/black really nice original car I have it set at a asking price of 50k but like I talked about that is a shooting for the stars price I would take less for it frame and bird cage is spotless as it's always been an SC car.

let me know then we can go from there on your 66. thanks
That's a real hoot A good friend of mine has too many Corvettes and has decided to sell his Top Flight 66 L72 convertible for an asking price of $120K and his Top Flight 67 L71 Convertible for an asking price of $160K. Wonder if he would like my friends phone number.

This is a huge reason why auctions have become the way to conduct transactions recently. Owners don't feel like being lowballed and wasting time with dreamers. I know of several cars that were for sale privately and did not sell but when they went to auction, they all sold. The thing that really makes this story interesting is that every buyer knew that the car was for sale privately and could have bought it for less money

Default Mecum.

I agree- Less haggling, answering stupid questions and your dealing with serious cash buyers. Best of all not dealing with E-bays best customers.

a 67 435 convertible sold at the recent auction for 145, and is now on a dealers website for 180. if this will not bother you, the auction route will get you a decent wholesale price, as there are mostly dealers / brokers there doing the bidding (actually it makes it easy for them by having the cars in one place). the bigger dealers / brokers are also likely to pay less in commissions at the auctions than regular bidders because they do more business. the dealers / brokers are better networked with retail buyers (buyers not inclined to make quick decisions at auctions for cars they are unable to research quickly enough) to sell the cars. the key is being networked so that when a buyer (preferably local) is looking for a 66 425 convertible, they hear about yours. if they are lucky enough to hear about yours, it will sell.

Tom
Awesome car and most of us know what you have. It never ceases to amaze me the number of people on this forum that think the rest of us just fell off a turnip truck.
