Very nice collection of coupes indeed. I guess its really true that you could order the knock off wheels option in 64.

One of my favorite memories with my dad over the years was driving his 64 FI big tank almost 800 miles to go look at the 65 in the late 80's before it was restored. Went to dawsinville, GA to see it. Got to learn how to drive stick on the way home.

All that really matters is this. Who did you build the car for? If you built the car to how you want it, then who cares what it is called. It sounds like you obviously did not want a Bloomington gold car and that's fine. As long as you enjoy the car who cares. It sounds like the modifications you made are to improve the drivability of a classic car. I think the improvements sound great. As long as the new brakes clear the wheels who cares what wheels are on it. The KO wheels are a great look for these cars.
