Default C1 windshield moulding question

Is the piece that fits inside of the top header stainless moulding that connects to the windshield posts, the same for both non-sunvisor and sunvisor equipt upper mouldings on C1's 1956-1962? I just bought a moulding that has the holes for sunvisors, need to know if the inner piece from my non-sunvisor upper moulding will work with it or if I need to find one for a sunvisor equipt corvette.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg
I run a 61 and have just replaced my screen rubber and on mine the screw holes are only in the outer stainless moulding , they do not correspond with any on the inner section so it should fit OK , if you are not running with sunvisors you will need to make up a neat plate to cover the centre area . My stainless moulding is quite badly dented and I could do with a replacement , was yours new ? if so where did you get it .
cheers Mike ( UK )

I will be running with sunvisors, that is why I bought the moulding with the holes, so I could change the upper moulding on my 1960 to accommodate sunvisors. The moulding I bought was either a perfect original or restored piece because it is perfect! The moulding coming off is a non-sunvisor piece that is in good condition, but not perfect. It would need to be restored and polished to be show quality.
Thank you for your information!

The inner channel is the same for visor or no visor applications.

Hi K2,

That is what I wanted to hear! Now I can use my inner channel and make my outer non-sunvisor moulding available to someone who needs one.
