I did pop them off of two of the wheels and there are not any safety pins. I will definitely use never seize before putting them back on. This is not very much fun.

Congratulations! Now rest up and take off the other two. Just curious, how did you end up getting the first two wheels off?

I put the lead hammer against the spinner and hit it with a sledge hammer. It mangled the lead hammer but was forceful enought to loosen the spinner. The Dennis Portka tool could not get it off nor could the lead hammer on its own. So much for quick release wheels .... I definitely would have lost that race.

Ain't that the truth. I've thought about that a few times too.

Yes, check for pins. Some idiot I know hammered the spinner off and crushed the hollow pin. Ok, it was me, that was a long time ago. I would think that even with a pin, you would move the spinner a bit. Does this just kill the bearings and U joints if the wheel is in the air?

leave the weight of the car on the wheels when you wack the knock offs. Then jack the car up.
