Default Ignition shielding

I need a shield for my 65, would you buy a new shield from paragon or try to buy an original and clean it up? Is there much of a difference?

I'd buy a new one from Paragon; most used ones are pretty beat-up, gouged, dented, and scratched, and need a lot of work to look presentable.

It really depends on what your plans are for the car. If car shows are in the picture, definitely get a new one. If you are merely interested in having the shielding to reduce the impact of radio noise, then find a cheap used set, if you can.

In all reality the ignition shielding does little for radio interference. Most folks want it because it came on most of our cars and it looks good. Based on what I have seen at the swap meets I would buy new.

Are you going to the Concorso Italiano in Pebble beach this year?

To the others

No I am not worried about radio noise, It all about appearance when the hood is opened

Nope, no trips to the west coast planned this year - will be judging at the NCRS National Convention at the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah in July, though; looks like fabulous scenery out there.
