Default New Wheels!

Decided to go for that '60's look again! - got a set of 15x7 TTD's from Newstalgia Wheel, and a set of Firestone 225/R70x15 blue lines from Diamond Back Classics. The wheels were 155. ea. ($24 per wheel cheaper than Summit!) and the shipping was free.
Had to add those 20 degree knock-off spinners to complete that vintage road racer look..............

What a great look. Great choice. I was also looking at some TTDs from Newstalgia for my '63. Did you have any rubbing issues with the 7" wheel and 225 tire choice, either on the frame or fenderwells? Also, I was looking at putting on some of the American Racing Carlisle tri-bar spinners (very pricey!), but nobody in the country has them in stock, and AR is very coy about when they'll be available. What brand spinners did you use? Price range? Bolt-on installation? Thanks.

Massvette,

I like the look!! That just goes with the late 60's early 70's nostalgic hot rod/road race view. Very Nice!!

Big Secret!
Actually, I bought 'em from Hot Rod Hardware.

They're not American Racing's Carlisle Tri-Bars, but they look real good.

A little in the rear- I was bad and trimmed the lips a little, but I saved the pieces.
I think you'd be OK with 215's on the 15x7 TTD's. 225's on the 15x6 TTD's would definitely fit my car as built...........

As in my reply to Kenmo, I bought 'em from Hot Rod Hardware. They're not AR's, (who refuse to say when theirs will be available again) and they're pricey- but it's just the right look for me.

Do the spinners use the same screw mount holes as the AR...??? Or do they connect via an hub centre....???

Either way they look great...

Default 60's Look Wheels

Man, did that bring back memories! I painted a blue line on my skinny white wall tires before anyone offered them. I was running the American TT's on my '66 Blue convt which had a 67 front end on it at the time. I had Hooker sidemount headers instead of the stock pipes, but even had the tri bar spinners on the wheels. Thanks for the memories. Yours looks soooooo cool. Congrats.

Default Tri Power Carbs

Hey, do you want some more tri power carbs? Check out the photos on my thread under C-2 parts for sale. Would look great on the other big block. We can talk price if interested. Glenn

Looks great! Do the new wheels clear the calipers or did you need to run spacers? I bought my Torq Ds 2 years ago and need spacers.

Love the blue-walls! They match the car perfectly.

Massvette,
I agree with the rest of the guys, they look great.
If you realy want to get these guys excited take a few pics of the super clean engine compartment with the tripower setup. Now that's realy impressive. I drool everytime I see it. Truly one of the nicest vettes in New England. Keep up the good work.

Same 5 holes as AR caps........... the spinner itself threads on to the aluminum hub, and has an allen head set screw

The wheels clear the calipers just fine without spacers. They are relieved on the back of the spoke.
BTW- Thanks for the compliment!

Excellent choice The TTDs fit the look far better than the TT2s (that everyone now is going with).

I painted the grey, black on my TTDs. I "thought" about going to the TT2s. As you can see, it was just a thought.
