Classic symptoms common to most C2's - there are many suppliers who specialize in proper rebuild of the odometer gear train; Corvette Specialties of Maryland has done several for me, and there are several Forum members (like Jason) who also do this work.

Speedo
Bouncing or pulsating speedos are usually caused by a speedo cable that needs to be lubricated.
The odometer in my 67 has not worked since the day I got it in August 1974. The odometer gears on most 63-67 corvettes stripped out after a few short years. There are a bunch of Corvette vendors who rebuild them.

FYI - picked up my instrument panel on Saturday - he restored my speedometer and tachometer, adjusted the ammeter, temp gauge and repainted the body - all for $300.00!
