I know that there has been a lot of discussion in the past about consoles.. I was surfin ebay tonight and found this.. Wow never thought consoles would demand this high of a price but hey I've never went looking at prices for one either.... Dave..
I noticed the NOS console didn't have the radio side panel clips attached -- I assume they would have to be purchased separately. Also, I notice that almost all of the consoles listed on e-bay seem to have the radio side panel clips missing. Is this extremely common for them to come off? Thanks.

Probably easy for them to come off, they're only held on by upsetting a protrusion on the console, as I recall

Side panel clips
In the '66 AIM it shows them attached to the console but there are no part numbers listed for them [or the ash tray lid]. The console is also referred to as an assembly, "asm". It seems like the console should come with them installed if you were to buy the console separately.

I guess I need to pull out the AIM I just never noticed that they were supposed to be there or that I was missing them... Dave...

Other than perhaps preventing the side panels from rattling against the console, the only other purpose the clips seem to serve is to greatly increase the odds of screwing up the dash pads when you install the console.

Those clips were part of the production console assembly, but the service parts didn't have them.
Here are the clips in question. Agree with the post below; you've got to be real careful running these past the dash pads. Mine came with scrapes from a previous repair.
Yep definately don't have those but all fits well so I guess this is one part that I don't really have to have... Well now I'm really glad I posted.. 1. If someone picks up the console for a better price than normal ... and 2. I once again learned something new.. Thanks guys.. Dave..
