Default Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit

Hey Guys:

Two weeks until the dream cruise, it's going to be my first time. Is there any organization to where Vettes may be at or is it at random? It would be nice if the early Vettes were all in the same area.....

Anybody else planning to attend?

BA macker,
You are really going to enjoy yourself.Im kind of lucky this year and have been honored with invitations for one car to be in the Chevy exhibit and another in a special Ford exhibit.Should make for a great saturday.Dont know of any specific Corvette area. There are seperate car shows about every 50 feet.A bunch of my Corvette buddies hang around the McDonalds just south of 13 mile road.Sometimes they dont bring the plastic cars so you just never know what you are going to see.General Birmingham area is probobly about the best area.Watch the burnouts as they will ticket!!!!!!!!!!............Bill S

Our Michigan NCRS Chapter will be in the middle of downtown Birmingham, where they close off "old" Woodward so it becomes a huge car show; only 1976 and earlier cars are allowed in that area this year. We buy 60 curb parking spaces from the City every year, all together, set up our tents and banners, fire up the bar-b-q grill, everyone brings food and coolers (no alcohol allowed), we have a judging seminar, and enjoy the day. "Big" Woodward is only 100 feet away, where all the action is. All our spaces are sold out, but any Vette folks are welcome to drop by and join us. The Chevrolet Corporate display is about a block South of where we set up, where Southbound "Big" Woodward and "old" Woodward come together.

If you want to drive the whole "Cruise" route (12 miles each way, 8-lane divided boulevard), do it before about 11:00 AM - from then on it's parade speed, with 50,000 cruisers on the road and 1.5 million spectators at the curb the whole way. Bring your camera - if you haven't seen it, you won't believe it; biggest one-day automotive event on the face of the planet! :seeya

Great! This is the info I am looking for. You say your spaces are sold out- is there room adjacent to your spaces for my '63 and my buddies '68? We're driving up from Cleveland for the show. :yesnod:

All the downtown "show" parking spaces on Old Woodward are sold out months in advance, but there's off-Woodward parking available all over the downtown area; drop in and say hello - just look for the canopies and Michigan NCRS banner :D
