Default '66 Headlight adjustment

Could anyone give me some advice on how to adjust the headlights on a '66. I'm finding it impossible to get to the adjustment screws unless I remove the grille. Hope there's another way.

There are two adjustments that can be made. If you want to turn the whole housing up or down, you will need to adjust the Y stops on the motor pivot shafts. They are not easy to get to, but they can be reached with a small 7/16 open end wrench. It helps to have small hands and arms also. The second is the adjusters on the headlight capsules. Take the front bezels off to get to those. There are two adjustment screws on each capsule.

Default How about the aim?

I was just going to post a similar thread.

My question is: Is there an alternate method of aiming the lights other than using the special device noted in the manuals?

Thanks, Jeff

A mirror will help a great deal in adjusting the "Y" stops. You need to get the face of the bucket more or less perpendicular or the travel in the adjusting screws will not be enough to get the aim correct. There should also be a diagram to aim the lights against a wall in the manual, but trial and error will work too.
