I think there was a recent post with this issue but I need advice on how to QUIET Down my 4 speed Shifter. When going at 3500rpm 70-80mph (6500 rpm) tach it Vibrates and drives me nuts! Under 3500rpm no Vibrations seems great. I tavel a lot on the Freeways (Houston) . Is there a bushing kit out there that will solve my problem? if so how dificult is it to fix issue.
That's the reason a lot of fourth gear synchronizer forks and synchronizer hubs wore out -- the driver rests his arm on the shifter **** to quiet the noise. This causes the parts inside the transmission to wear.
After several rebuilds on my original, I only found one solution - Hurst Comp with look-alike shifter handle. That was a number of years back, and I haven't had a problem since. Good luck!
