recently upgraded my engine and chromed up some parts to show engine better. one question, does anyone know about header or manifold dressing? i saw some on jc whitney, but am unsure of results. i would use the fiberglass wrap, but those pipes are so close together in spots it is impossible to wrap them nicely. my pipes are clean, but a little rusty looking in spots.
found the website. you have to ship them your headers. found some good stuff like that. but i was hoping for some type of dressing i could apply and just bake on by running car. must be something out there. i hate to pull headers now, spring is here.
I used the POR header coating on mine and they still look pretty good. They're 20 year Hedman's so didn't want to put too much money in them. They were off the car and I did bead blast them first and would NOT recomend sandblasting.

I use a gray looking dry paste that I bought from one of the Corvette catalog/online vendors. It is maybe 3-4 oz. Just knock off the heavy rust with a wire brush and apply the gray paste with an old toothbrush, etc.
After engine heating, it is a dull aluminum metalic color. Needs touch up once a year. Sorry can not look at small container, I am 7,000 miles from home. I think it was about $7

The paste is called CALYX and I got mine from LIC...I was happy with it's results especially since you don't have to remove the manifolds to use it. Sells now for $13 a jar. dave
