Paint Question
Hi Guys,has any one ever put a clear coat over a acrylic lacquer paint job.Can this be done sucesfully.And what would be the best method.Any help will be much appreciated.Thanks BOB wINSKI

I dont normally disagree with John, but I have done this when color matching was a concern and had no real problems. You need to let the lacquer dry very well first. Also keep in mind that real base coats, spray out flat without a shine to enhance CC adherence.

can be done . your talking about putting urathane over lacquer? . my advice is let the lacquer air dry for a few days then take sanding soap scuff the lacquer THEN apply the urathane clear . the wait will lessen the chance of solvent popping and that would be a bad thing
