Default Clock restoration Question

I am down to the last couple things that need to be repaired on our 66 coupe. The previous thread on Rogers clock/tach restoration had both good and bad recomendations. Any others out there you would recommend ? I also just wanted to say, I have always wanted a C2 and it took a long time and several "muscle cars" to get there but I just love that car!!! and in addition this forum has helped me in so many ways to fix and repair items myself which I get great satisfaction in, so thank you to everyone.

I have used Clockworks to do several C-1 clocks. Excellent work and fast turnaround. http://www.clockwks.com/CLOCKWORKS/The_Clock_Worx.html

I also recommend the clock works. NOS Borg mechanisms were available when I had mine done.

I did mine in my '65 by myself with one of the quartz kits that are available in all the catalogs. It was pretty easy - about 2 hours tops from what I remember. I got the guts from Riks Vette catalog a few years ago. It's worked perfectly since!

I put a quartz movement in my 1965 coupe. It has kept perfect time now, for almost 6 years. It's an easy do it yourself job. I got mine from Ecklers.

I did the same with a quartz kit from Corvette Central this past winter. Took about 1 1/2 hours and was very easy. Works great.

Nice looking car. Let me add that IF (big IF) your intention is NCRS or Bloomington Gold judging...

You need to have your clock restored with the original "ticking" mechanism. Quartz conversions are full deductions on the judging sheets. It a big hit.

As I recall, it's a "line item" on the NCRS forms..a 20-25 point "hit" on the Operations section. Chuck

Had mine done by the clock works about a year and a half ago. Fast reliable service. I had them use nos parts instesd of quartz. It worked great for about a year. For the last six or seven months it works sometimes and does'nt work other times. Guess I'll have to change over to quartz.
