Default Brake line loop

Does anyone know why there is a loop along the brake line? For a 62, the manual shows that the back right flex brake line is looped. Mine is not looped but whoever owned it previously looped the hard line on the front right. I'm wondering what the purpose the loop is. Thanks.

John Z will come on here and tell you the engineering reason and shoot me down in flames, but if you buy those brake lines that are made up at any parts house and don't know how to flange the ends you have to do something with the extra. That is probably how you ended up with the right front loop. The back loop probably has something to do with body flex and rearend movement.(?)

Default And another .02

Flexible hose has a minimum limit for the radius it can be bent to in service. Explains why it has a loop in the back flex line. A shorter length will be bent too much.

with knight37128 on the hard line. I.E. no double flare tool.

Good point on the line being too long. I do not think the flex line is looped to clear the axle because it would clear better if there was no loop. I think it may have to do with getting air out of the sytem.
