Default 1966 trim tag decode

I have a trim tag for a 1966 corvette that reads

G17
style 66437 S3192 body
trim 421AG 988AA Paint

I think I can figure out the date on top of March 17, 1966. Is that correct?

Paint is Milano Maroon

My question is what is the Trim?
It looks like Leather that is Saddle color, but what does the AG stand for?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

What is the prefix to the body number?
If it is "S" - G17 is March 17
If it is "A" - G17 is Feb 17

"AG" is coupe with electric windows.

Dave, Is the 617 time built code you gave correct? The first digit should be a letter, not a number. In the style number 66437 the 66 is the year but it has to be a 837 coupe or 867 convert. There wasn't anything that would be a 437. 988AA is the correct number for maroon and the 421 was Medium Saddle leather interior. The suffix letter codes AG indicate coupe model. Hope this helps..dave

Mine has a style #66 437 as well. That's what the tag says.

There were various style numbers depending on the model year. "437" and "467" are correct for '66s.

Interesting!!! I'll quote from the NCRS Corvette Specifications Guide pg. 139 (1963-1967 Body Identification Plate): STYLE: Last two digits of the model year, a blank space, and the three-digit body-style code (either 837 for coupe, or 867 for convertible).
I don't doubt you at all but wonder why the difference. I'm sure someone will help out on this one.......dave

Oops....sorry guys.....I found an addendum saying "66 and "67's were the 437 and 467.....my apologies for the misinformation but I've learned something!!

From where I stand you have a St. Louis-built coupe (66437 is correct and the AA in the paint code indicates St. Louis as well), Milano Marroon (988AA) with Saddle leather interior (421) and power windows (AG). Since it's a St. Louis car then the body build date code has to be G17, not 617. Therefore it's a March 17th, 1966 coupe - body #3192.

The 837 and 867 designations were good for 63s and 64s, they changed in 65.

I don't see anything unusual about the tag, except the prefix for the body number isn't given ("S" or "A"); the "437" is the correct designation for a '66 coupe.

Thanks for the feedback.
It is a G and not a 6 and it is an S for St. Louis, so Islander is very accurate and correct. Thanks for the help. I was curious about the AG and now know it is a coupe with power windows (which is what it does have)
Thanks for all the help.
