Help on Value of a Color Changed '62?
I was nearing a deal on a ‘62 340 #match car and discovered during my investigation that this blk/blk/blk beauty was actually born as a maroon car. (This was supposedly news to the owner as well)
Can you all weigh in on your thoughts as to what deduction this brings in its value? We are trying to hammer out a new deal with the recent facts considered.
I doubt I will be changing it back so assume it will stay black.
Thanks for your help.
Jim

There are no trim tags on 62's showing original exterior paint and interior color/material, so I'd say it makes no difference. Both black and maroon were original 62 colors.
You probably found the color written in crayon behind the trunk divider panel or behind the passengers seat??? Chuck
