Default Engine Compartment Help

I would like to know what color the firewalls and engine compartments were painted on '62 Corvettes. Mine is red with black interior.

Also what is the color of the female hood latch.

I believe that the latches should be cad plated or zinc plated with black over spray.

Correct, silver or gold cadmium with black overspray from the blackout procedure.

Sorry to hop in on your thread but I'm wondering do they make a proper "spray" gold cadmium paint like that which is used on a master cyl cap? If so, who and where? Thanks,
Brian

Paul or Plasticman,
Have either of you ever used the above referenced products? If so, how did it turn out?

Thanks, Brian
