The pics posted in this thread do show some tasteful, subtle flares, and they look pretty good. i still wouldn't put those flares on an unmolested C2, but I wouldn't take them off either if i ever got one of these cars. (unless of course is is all original/matching, blah blah except soembody put flares on)
I guess I am just an original body style purist, except for maybe an easy change like a '67 hood on an earlier car.
We have been down this road before. I like modified cars, I like stock cars. What I really like are drivers, stock or modified, no offense to collectors and show only. My car has all the typical mods from the early 70's and I like it that way. I also drive it all the time and don't worry about it getting wet in the rain or it may get dinged. If it happens I will deal with it. It's a 10 footer anyway!
By the way. Welcome back Duntov!
See, those are tasteful. Now on the other hand, some people's idea of flares (and other body modifications in this car's case) are way off base from my preferences:
Thanks for the input the above pic's are off e-bay i remember seeing the ad i think it was in Oregon too __a bit much for me tho the mild flares i think look good--Glenn
evidently, kcust62 (self-proclaimed "old fogie") has a real problem with anyone who does share his opinion. That's called "intolerant" - if I had said I don't like flares b/c they look too bubba-ish for my tastes, would I have suffered his wrath too?
dat ol boy needs to . . . . this is America, we all have opinions, and are free to express them.
Evidently you are just as "intolerant" as you suggest I am. You're busting on me for replying to Seaside63's post. You seem to be getting more excited about this thread than I, so, maybe you need to also! After all, I was stating my opinion and according to you, free to express it. So what's your problem?
the mad rants of some self-proclaimed old fogie whose pride was injured when some one deigned to voice his opinion regarding said fogey's beloved fender flares are hardly the stuff to get me me excited.
now BOB, dat boy gets me riled up - bad influence he be.
From: One thing is for sure this kind of discourse and BS would not be tolerated on the NCRS forum. Ohio

He's all bound up fretting about trim tags and such...makes him irritable . We all live close enough to meet somewhere and discuss it over a cool libation. I'll even buy.
I have a gut feeling he is a lot nicer than he acts

Don't go blaming me for your intolerance. I thought you were
I've come to the conclusion that it does me no injury if someone prefers custom vettes or original vettes. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
