Yep. You need to see that movie. Lots of coverage of that part of the battle and true. Many units could march 20 miles a day

From: Park City to SoCal - according to the map it's all down hill. No bad days in Indian Wells, California
gawd damnnit..... just ripped my 64 completely apart looking for build sheet. Ripped out the guts of the interior, the seats are all over the shop, wheels are laying on the floor, engine is out and now the radiator has a huge hole in it. The windsheild is cracked and the exhaust system is shot. I tried to jack it up and the damn thing fell off the jacks and cracked the rear clip and broke the tail pipe bezels. Geeze, all this becasue a guy said he heard there was a build sheet in the back seat or some other god forsaken place. (radio now works for some strange reason)..... anyway, NO friggin build sheet...... but I've got the reatest project/barn find sitting in my shop for free..... wooppee!!!!!! something to do over the winter.... rebuild my friggin 64 AGAIN.
Anyone remember that scene in Indiana Jones, where he finds the Arc of the Covenent ? They show some guy wheeling it into a large warehouse of endless crates and boxes ? I think it is the same with GM. Somewhere, in some warehouse, there is a gold mine of documentation.
what makes you say that?? my car is a 66...as a matter of fact 12/14/1966...
jack
I assume you are serious.
You say your car was "built" on 12-14-66? hmmm, I wonder what it looks like, perhaps what we refer to as a 1967 Corvette? (That's a "model year" reference, GM built the 67 model year Corvettes from Sept 1966 - July 1967)

well, with that not so little typo now fixed I'm not gonna tell you that you are wrong, sure would look like a 66 Corvette to me now
as for the build sheet you say you found on top of your gas tank, well, we all have done things we would like to be able to take back - who knows what it was now?
What unit ? I love the battle of G'burg. If you want to see a GOOD movie. You can buy/rent "Gettysburg" with Tom Berringer, Martin Sheen and a few others. It is the most accurate movie about the CW or specifically G'burg out there. If we could only go back to the 3rd day at 1:00 P.M. and rethunk it
I KNEW as soon as I saw the word CIVIL WAR in the post we'd hear from you ..
Huh ? Say what ? Someone mention "THE WAR" ? !!! Did I ever tell ya' the one about.....
Loading my .69 caliber, 1842 Springfield, Pumkin' Slinger right now ! Don't press me...I can ease off 3 rounds a minute with it If I get lucky. I CAN hit the broadside of barn. It's a smoothbore, don't ya' know.

I've got copies of build sheets for mid-year Corvettes from '63 to '67. One friend of mine bought a new Corvette every year and the dealer saved the build sheets for him. He had two new '63 Corvettes as a shop boy rolled one taking it for a joy ride when it was in for warranty work. Both '63's had build sheets showing knock off wheels and the window stickers don't show the option. All cars had build sheets, but there is no telling if they were thrown out or stuck in the glove box.
Can you post or email pics ? Would love to see an original sheet.
