I have a small toggle switch near the antenna switch, one of the wires is broken & the switch didn't work. With my trusty wiring diagrams from Doc. Rebuild I was able to establish that the wires going to this switch are for my reverse lights. After jacking up the car I determined there is no back up switch on the trans. I repaired the switch and they now work.
So here's my inquiry, should I purchase a back up switch or leave it as is?
As I was born in the early 70's I recall many "hot rodders" using the reverse lights to say "lets race".
If you are now boycotting them, page 25 of Paragon's C2 catalog (copy available for viewing online http://www.corvette-paragon.com/memb...ads/v31-c2.pdf ) has a nice diagram in the center column of what it looks like and the parts needed.
You could do it either way. The mounting bracket, switch and linkage that hooks to your reverse shift 'dog' would cost about $70-$80. The swich bracket uses two of the bolts on the tranny's side cover. The L-shaped connector for the hookup comes out of the firewall which is where the pigtail from the switch plugs in. Is yours still there or did Bubba do his own splice?
