Water Leaks, Help !
I just had a new windshield and gasket put into my
'66 convert. We made sure there were no holes around the window frame that could take in water. I was hoping this would fix my problem but it didn't. The car leaks whenever I wash it. The kick panels on both sides get soaked and the the water spreads to the floor. I also get some water that runs down the center console. The car never leaked before I had it painted about 10 years ago but after the paint shop took out the windshield and reinstalled it it started leaking. I've never been caught in the rain so I've been lucky only time it leaks is when I wash it and only if I spray too much around the windshield.
Any help in locating the problem would be appreciated.

Make sure the drains inside the gutters are open by running water in them and noting if water drains out from the bottom of the kickpanel area outside. If the drain hose is clogged water will build up and could be draining inside of the car at the kickpanel area. Helped mine stay drier....notice I said drier, not dry......haven't been in a midyear yet that didn't leak somewhere but maybe there are some!!

Another area is the windshield wiper transmissions. There is caulking that dries out over time and water leaks around the seams. I put strip caulking around the posts and bolts. As the last post indicated I have never seen a midyear thaqt didn't leak.

Leaks!
DFA, Take your car to a glass shop and have them put sealer between the windshield and the rubber gasket. I used a 3m poduct made especially for that purpose. My windshield does not leake anymore. Now if I can just get the door and top rubbers to seal.

I thought mine was the windshield too. Turns out it was leaking around the door seals, near the upper door hinge. I wound up just running a hose over specific spots on the car, until I got water in the car! Good luck with yours.

Add a 3/4 half round self stick weatherstrip between the GM seals to make the windshield header seal to 85mph.
To test whether the windshield is sealed, use packing tape or duct tape to seal the glass to the paint and to the "vertical" reveal mouldings, then hose down the car. Aside from the vent area drains being plugged, there is a possibility that the fiberglass bond inside the cowl has separated (ask DZVETTE).

Apparently, the only purpose of the rubber gasket around the windshield is to stop it from falling out when you hit the brakes.
Click on the link below , print it, and show it to the guy that installed your new windshield. Check to see if he does this:

Hey, new to this group, but I have that same problem with the water leaking in on the driver side just above the door hinge. How did you/do you fix the hole? I have a 93 model, but the leak is in the same place.
