Default Dilema

I'm new to this board but i just wanna tell some people my situation.. Im only 18 and a senior. In my barn are two corvettes: a '67 and '61. The '67 is totally complete 427 car with original paint side pipes and power windows. The only thing missing is the engine which was pulled out to be rebuilt and has never been finished. Now it just sits, and for the 61, it has been completely dissassembled and the motor is hidden in parts throughout the barn. The problem is Im going off to college to play football and so i do not have the time to inheret and restore either of these from my father.. so they sit and wait, im just hoping when i come outof college i still have the same desire as i do now to restore them.

Wow, what a small world. I'm in the same boat (except I'm going to college to learn something - too small for football). In addition at an all original '69 ZL1, I have a '67 L88 (neither running at the moment). I also have a '68 Shelby GT500KR convertible, and a '71 Cuda Hemi Vert - both with less than 10K original miles. I think that by the time I get out of school, I will want to sell them cheap and move on with life. What should I do?

If your serious, you should take all the advice you can get from those on this board regarding the things you should do to avoid deterioration and preserve these cars.

So do you have a question for us or something?

(BTW - you might want to brush up on the spelling and grammar before heading off to school )

man you guys are rough - and this is the same bunch that believes on faith alone that one of our members actually has two unrestored 67 L89s (among other rare cars) sitting in his garage *. . .

Wilson, if you are for real then perhaps you might want some advice on how to best prep that engine for what will be some more time in storage - of course, that could be your summer project next year (by the way, don't you go off to college in the fall, as in, shouldn't you be there already?)

* linky for that:

So what exactly is your question? You may want to post pictures. If you are interested in preservation of these cars, you will get a lot of good advice. You may also want to fill out your profile so we know a little bit more background.

Is Wilson the guy who will send me a fax every so often indicating that his filthy rich uncle in Pakistan has just passed away & they need an account in the USA to clear millions of his dollars??
I feel so honored when I receive these faxes, and they want to pay me a few million dollars for my account information / time.

Why? He is only going to college to play football. I'm sure he will make it big in the NFL and someone else can spell and write for him.

Actually - I have the same doubts about that person as I do this one.

I asked. You also indicated you were playing football in school, and last I knew, that's a fall sport. I also asked that the forum give you a chance, happy to see the pictures and help you out any way I can with regard to those Corvette questions, I really don't have any interest in why or when you are going to school . . . . .
