I was wondering if anyone else has used Al Knoch's door panels? I am on my second set which they were more than happy to replace as one had a blister near the arm rest and the other had a crack in the stainless trim part on the top. I just got my second set today and the door lock hole is way off. It is at the rear/top of the hole? I did look at it and found that the whole panel needed to come rearward. The other holes seem to be more forgiving. I had to grind some metal material off the panel to allow it to shift back and drop down some. It is still goofy but may work decent although the door lock **** will irritate the panel over time and cause wear... Any input to my dilema is more than appreciated. I tried to adjust the lock tho it is pretty well postioned and has very little movment. Seems everything I buy is not correctly made...
I just replaced my door panels in my 66 Coupe with Al Knoch panels. They fit perfectly. I had to cut out the window crank hole and that was it. They must be made for power windows and if you have to you cut out the hole for the window crank. I can shoot some pictures if you need them.
I know from where you come. My problem was compounded because I ordered parts to far out. Then when I would call with a problem, I would get the usual, you have x amount time to report a problem, and so on.
All you can do is call, talk ask to speak to a supervisor, ask them to check it out before they send you another panel, That you want it right, and that you paid good money for a quality product.
I'm pulling for you.

Similar happened to me and the lock **** hole seemed off whereas everything else aligned. Happened on both sides too.
What I found was the door panel steel backing is not cut out as the originals and bind on the door. I placed clay to find where the panel was hitting which helped me see the difference between the original and the Al Knock.
Once the panel seated further down then the lock was closer in position although still slightly back. Even with the original the lock is at a slight angle and isn't parallel to the panel. Also, there is a small plastic spacer that needs to be put on prior to the lock.
Place the lock on there without the clip (so it doesn't lock on) and you may find it is good.
I had the same exact problem with my panel for my 65 coupe.. I should've sent it back , but just grunted it on.. I think there panels aren't as good as they used to be..
Thanks for replies, I did do a nice job on the one side removeing material. No hack job- I say that because it seems hack when a guy needs to massage something that should be correct from the start (yea rite). I did dry fit the lock **** without the clip for a trial and error deal as to not remove to much material. I think the real problem is when they staple on the inner window felt/metal they let it run past the trimmed metal door panel top. Goofy tho cuz both panels where they bend the top radious is kinda hacked like they bend it with pliers and cut it with dykes?
Not realy rippin on these guys ( to much) they are nice to talk with and will send new parts out before they get the defective ones back, so thats a good thing---- I guess.... All in all tho they look very nice.
