Default 65 engine pads

I need some help. I am having a 65 engine stamped-yes I admit it. I am creating a restoration motor to have a 65 fuelie judged. Can some of you with original motors post pictures of your stamp pads so i can figure out what stamps to use? Thanks in advance.

I have my flame suit on-comments welcome and taken in context.
I am not trying to fool or cheat anyone-yes, i know that years from now it will morph into an original motor. This is a customers car and this is what he wants. It is going into a collection that hopefully will stay together. Also I am listing it in the Fuelly registry as a restamped block.

Ken,

If you don't stamp it, someone else will so what's the difference! Good luck. Post pics when you are done. I want to stamp my original 65 motor also after it gets rebuilt. I will also register mine as a re-stamp as I also am not trying to trick or fool anyone.

If you say yours is an original 65 motor, why would you RESTAMP it???

Not original to the car but date correct and not re-built at this time. When it gets re-built, it will be decked and the original stamp will be gone.

What month/year pad are you looking for? I have a few pics at home. It's good to use examples of the timeframe and HP code you're replicating to stay as close to original LOOKING as possible.

If the surface was reground then you'll want to replicate the broach marks as well. I saw a link somewhere the other day to a guy that has a broach imitating machine. The pictures looked good, like factory. I'll look in my browser history tonight to see if I can dig it up.

Or send it to Engines Limited. Evidently they have the best service available.

It is # 8221, built april or may of 65. I agree about the time frame respective of the characters. 2 different Gs to deal with....
the broach marks were already applied by Gary Kosier. I had Randy at Engines Unlimited stamp a couple of engines-the judges were NOT pleased.
The current stamper has a better reputation-or so we will see at BJ soon.

Ken,
Do you mean #8221 or #18221?? #8221 was built in late January 28th, but #18221 was built in May 24th.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't get the block stamped with the wrong date.

Here is one off a 327ci block, casting number 870. It is not a corvette engine, but still a Flint block.

I don't bash anyone. I leave that to people who have nothing better to do.

Because Proteam is NOT selling it as a "restamp" but original. If they sold it as a "restamp" then I would have no issues with that..

Also maybe if you did restamp an engine you could just have a "R" somewhere to show it's a restamp. The NCRS seeing this would obviously see it's a restamp, but if otherwise doen correctly not give you a deduct if you want to show the car.. Just a thought..

/joe

I wonder if your "customer" will forget to mention the restamp when he goes to sell the car?
