Does anyone have some pics of some 56 engine pads.

I am looking for pics of the GR, GU, and FK pads.

Thanks,

John Z, nice pad! Looks just like mine! Wait, it is my pad!! Really!Don't know where you got this photo unless you got it off of Vetteheads, but it is the stamp pad from my 1956, Bloomington Gold, Top Flight, Triple Crown car. Trust, me this is the way a '56 stamp should look.

Rob, what are you trying to determine about a '56 pad? Maybe I can help you in some way. Let me know.

If you look at that pad, it was "whacked" 4 times.

The first 5 numbers were in a gang and stamped as a unit. (whack 1)

The next 2 numbers were stamped individually. (whack 2 and 3)

Then, the date/suffix code was whacked in a gang stamp. (whack 4)

That's the way they're 'sposed to look. NICE. Chuck

Garry, I don't recall where or when I got it - I grab them wherever I find them for reference.

I seem to remember on Vetteheads where a couple of the guys found what appeared to be and turned out was an original GU car. Pad looked just like mine only worth a lot more with the GU code. That is probably where you got it. Glad to be of help. Take care.

John;

I really want to see this pic, and I can't get it big enough without distortion. Any ideas.

Are you trying to simply enlarge the thumbnail, or did you click on the thumbnail to get the bigger picture? It looks great for me when I click on the thumbnail to see the larger version.

Garry;

I got a nice picture of the pad from my computer at work. It must be my computer at home that is having a problem. POS.

Anyway, I see that your engine sequence number is 0447249. I'm guessing that you car is a May / June 1956 car? What is the VIN of your car?

I'm going to create a "restoration engine" for my 56, VIN 2117, which I am estimating is an early May, 1956 car. I'm thinking it will have a date code of late April / early May and a sequence number around 0430000.

What are your thoughts on these estimated dates / sequence number, etc?

Ed,
Did you get the rest of the pictures that I sent to you last night?
