Last May 17th I decided to bump my beautiful 62 into a large truck in front of me on the freeway (only going about 5mph). Punched about a 6" hole on the right side above the grill. After looking at all gaps and evaluating the shape of the front end, decided to go with a new press molded front end. You know the rest of the story. Needed to take the rest of the paint down various "while we are at it" jobs, new badges and trim, undetected prior shade tree repairs that need correction and the price tag is now just shy of $20K. But, it does look good! Should go to paint next week and if all works out, may be done by the first week of May. Fortunately the insurance company picked up the cost of the front end body work, about $11K. So, when it all said and done, it is going to be a much better car than it was before the hit. What a pain, but now that it is about done, looks like it may have been worth it. If I knew how to post pics, I would. But I don't.
Would LOVE to see the pics so here's how you post pics:
Go to a website that hosts pictures like photobucket (or tinypic, etc) and establish a FREE account. Then upload from your computer to photobucket. When you are done with that just click on the link to the pic (or highlight it and ctrl C it) and paste it into your CF messages and we will all be able to check it out! Good luck.
