vin number
just picked up a '59 and I would like to find out more about the car. How much information you can get from the vehicles vin other than when and where the car was made.

all you get out of a pre 78? vin is what type of car is it, who made it, #of cylinders in the enigine, year, and where it was made.

All 59s were built in St. Louis, and you can probably fairly accurately extrapolate the build date from the birthday calendar. Other than to estimate the of the birthdate, the VIN tells you nothing.
