Default 1965 CORVETTE ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD- eBay

Is this intake a factory original . . . how does one tell? What do you guys think of the condition of the intake manifold Part# 3844461? The pitting that he mentions. The pitting (??) in Picture 5 . . . can this defect be repaired to pass NCRS Judging? Thanks.

Well, I'll bite. The manifold is a genuine "factory" manifold and would be the correct number for your application. It does appear to have been resurfaced, but the "pitting" in pic #5 should not be a problem as far as sealing. I think the "pitting" the seller is referring to is on the t-stat housing mating surface, and around a couple of the bolt hole flanges below carb. That would be normal pitting for that manifold.
I would check with the buyer to make sure the threads are all present and "servicable" with respect to the temp. sending unit and vacuum port in the rear of carb. I had to helicoil one of my t-stat housing bolt holes in mine, and use a little rtv on the t-stat housing gasket, but, no big deal.
It looks to me like it's definately worth bidding on, but I couldn't tell you how much it's worth. Just my $.02.

you can have them "reskinned" which will make them look as good as new.. You can also "barryize" them by glass beading, which while look awesome (and cheaper), but might not pass the NCRS test.. your choice depending on how **** you want to get..

Default Manifold

I have a 66 with a 327/350 engine. My engine has a 65 manifold. I would like to swap my 65 manifold for a 66 manifold. Jerry
