Ignition switch help

The ignition switch failed in my 65. Radio and other stuff would not turn off in the off position. I purchased a switch from NAPA and all went in OK. The car starts when turned to the start position but stops when released to the on position. Any thoughs? Thanks, Lee

Wow, normally I'd say that's a classic sign of a bad ballast resistor, but I can't imagine it going bad at the same time your switch did.

I'm all ears on this one too I'm afraid.

Sounds like the IGN wire (coil) is wired to the start term.

Get a test light and work your way back toward the switch starting at the + post on the coil. Through the ballast, through the bulkhead connector and on to the switch with the key "on".
