Bleeding your brake or clutch line has never been easier or simpler! Revolutionary double-patented Russell Speed Bleeder replaces the original bleeder valve in your caliper/wheel cylinder with a spring-loaded one-way ball and check valve design. The uniqueness of the stainless steel check ball is that it opens to allow the old fluid and air out, then closes automatically between pumps preventing the old fluid and air from re-entering the line. It’s a real time saver

Has anybody tried them ?

Default Self Bleeders

They came out about 10 years ago. I think it takes the same amount of work as the regular bleeders. Some people like them some people dont.

The Motive Products power bleeder works great - makes it a one-person ten-minute job.

I lived with it for a year, basically training my braking foot to be very gentle, etc. But it was hard to brake somewhat quickly without overdoing it and locking up the brakes. But then the master cylinder went out. In replacing the master cylinder I realized that although the new and old parts looked basically the same, the plunger arm was slightly different. With the new master cylinder all of the brake grabbiness was gone. Apparently my great uncle had previously put in a master cylinder that was almost the right part, but not quite. His old car was a strange combination of willingness to spend money on certain things, but over-frugalness on other things. It had a 455 in it, but with a single 2-bbl carb (for "better" gas mileage, I guess). When he cracked the turn signal plastic covers on both front corners of the car, he had grafted on some generic turn signals using angle brackets.
Reminds me of my 65 Vette---it was a challenge to figure out how to mount the old starter to a new bellhousing until I posted a new thread on the Corvette Forum and someone told me that my old starter was made for a big block, not a small block. DOH!!!

UPDATE-Some wanted to know if i solved my brake problem. Here is what i have found so far. Both back wheel cyclinders were locked right up tight. replaced with new. Left front wheel cycinder was leaking . Right front had a new hose on it I put some WD 40 on the bleeder and i saw it being sucked in by the rubber hose They did not put the copper washer on it. I have orderd new parts from LIC(over the internet) I have all the hoese coming and front wheel cylinders kits and etc. will let you know how it turns out

I bled all the brakes (64) with the motive power bleeder and I have no leaks and master cylinder is full and I have no brake pedal I have no brakes. I got some air out of all of them If it is the master cylinder would I have been able to get some air out of all of them and then clear fluid. I though I had it done I am done for the night. If I have to bled the master can I do it on the car and if I can how do I do it ? It is going to be nice in Maine this weekend also and I want to drive it for a change Thanks

Some wanted to know how I made out with my brakes . I found both back wheel cylinders were frozen up ,one front leaked when I pulled the rubber back . There was no copper washer on the right front rubber hose and both back rubber hoses were restricted.I replaced all rubber hoses ,back wheel cylinders and rebuilt the right front wheel cylinder . Cleaned up the adjuster and put silver anti seize on them, adjusted the shoes by the book .Bled the brakes last night with the motive power bleeder, did not have any pedal, bleed them three times today and still not much pedal ,checked everywhere for leaks ,did not have any. When to the store and got a master cylinder bleeder and line plug When I came back my 70 year old friend came over and asked if I was having trouble with the brake job, he had an auto restoration business before he retired and moved to Maine. Some lucked he lives next door.I told him everything I had done and he said we should adjust the shoes another way before you mess with the master cylinder. The book said to adjust them until you have a drag on the drum and then back them of 1/1/4 turns. I marked the adjusted and did them that way .He said lets locked them up with drums on and back them of until we can move them Well that did it. I guess I had them to lose or GM thinks the adjust would have got them right I took it out and it pulled to the right once and that was it. They are working good I do not think they will lock up after setting either ,that was the back wheel cylinders and hoses .Thanks for all the support on a little brake job
