What a great letter! Thought I would share it with you guys

Hey Tom,

Just wanted to let you know, the problem with the radiator was me...not your radiator. When I returned with my mechanic yesterday with the pressure tester to check out the vette, I laid under the car and looked carefully at the area that was leaking. Sure enough, coolant was coming down from the radiator hose. My mechanic is always fusing at me to tighten bolts and screws much more than I do.

After we hooked up the pressure tester, it really confirmed that the leak was coming from a loose radiator hose as you had suggested. I tightened it, and we pressure tested again...but only at 7 lbs as that is as high as we could get the pressure tester to go due to fitting problems. No leak. I was happy.

I just wanted to let you know that your service was immpecable....I had an initial quick response even though I had mentioned "problem". And from that point on, your emails were very quick and they were of genuine concern for getting the problem fixed as soon as possible. You did not blame me for anything, you did not make me feel uncomforable at any time...only that the problem would be fixed and I would be made happy. That customer treatment speaks volumes these days.

I must say that you made me feel as if my problem was the only one in the world...that was also appreciated. If you ever need a reference or testimonal...please feel free to use me or my email as someone to contact. I certainly will give you an A plus and trust me, that is high and very very rare coming from me.

I will certainly recommend you to my vette friends without reservation.

Thank you again Tom,

Sincerely,

Jimmy Wooten

That letter would probably get lost in the inner-office routing of a big corporation - but I'll bet it made your day as a small business owner. I'm sure its rewarding to be appreciated for providing a great product and service.

Tom, I don't need a rad ... running a nice 180* ... but loved that message. Certainly if I need your product in future I will go in your direction.

Tom,

After seeing countless responses on the CF and now letters from customers on how you conduct your business and customer service, it was a no - brainer for me to purchase a radiator from your company last week. Thanks from me and all the other satisified customers you serve and routinely help.

Take care,

Tony

Great letter. Thanks for sharing Tom.

I purchased a dewitt direct fit aluminum radiator for my 1960 283/270 2x4 (redundant info, I know) from MidAmerica Motorworks or Corvette America (I can't remember which one) because I was having overheating problems with my newly rebuilt engine in 2006. I am still having overheating problems but only at low speeds so I am thinking of purchasing the correct dual puller fan setup from you. Is this the best way to go to solve my problem?

Thanks.

Tony W.

That's a nice letter Tom. After putting two of your radiators in my cars I can now drive them when the temps are over 80 degrees

I remember writing a testimonial letter to you a few years ago. Your radiators are the best.

I recently had someone who sells custom radiators on Ebay make a radiator for me, LS1 in a C1.
1. He promised four weeks turn around and it took twice as long.
2. The inlet & outlet fittings were at the wrong angle and wrong size.
3. One fitting hit the frame.
4. He made a pin style when I needed a side mount.
5. and it was too thin, not exactly for a high performance set-up.
When I tried to contact him to take it back because of all the mistakes he made, he blamed me and wouldn’t admit any of the blame. Anyway, after having to prove to him that side mount radiators were made for 1961 Corvettes, not to mention the other screw-ups he made, he told me he would refund my money. Of course, he was going to charge me a 20% restocking fee and I had to suck up all the shipping. I am out about 200 bucks because of that idiot. Oh well, I should have known better, I am getting a Dewitt radiator when I can afford it, so far this year I went over budget on my project, so maybe next year. So when you are looking to save money, don’t buy from Entr**ytec!!
Cheers, Dave

Hey Tom, when can you put a 53-55 radiator on the market? I realize the market is small but since the cost of the cars is now higher, people are putting them together and will need this service.

Sincerely,
Brett

Tony,
There are really too many questions to ask to really trouble shoot a problem on the forum, but if you want to call in this week I'm on the phones this week. Christyn is on vacation

But to prepare you with the most common starters:

how hot? (temperature) have you measured it with an IR gun? (second opinion) Replacement sender? (typcially read high) You said new motor (it's tight and needs to break in too) Coolant? (50/50 or what)
That should keep you busy for a while, hopefully for a week and Christyn will be back and I'll be up north

It's a great looking core but I think the need will really be the top and bottom tanks with the strap. Is it possible to ever see these repro???

Thanks Tom!

Default Thank you Tom DeWitt, yet another testimonial

FWIW, I just finished installing a restoration radiator by DeWitt in our '66 Vert small block L-79. I replaced a copper/brass unit (heavy) with the DeWitt aluminum Restoration radiator, complete with correct markings, date code etc. which is much lighter.

Fit was perfect for the radiator, but installation with new fan shroud yielded some colorful language in the garage. I elected to keep the hood on for the replacement, which I might rethink if ever the case arises again. (bad idea)

In the past I have had the guages rebuilt (small difference), replaced the sending unit (no difference), installed the correct temperature sending wire stand off (5 degree difference-pretty wierd), and replaced the radiator cap (no difference), in an effort to address the hot reading (+220) at idle, +/-200 at speed. (Verified with a infared at idle to within 5 degrees.) using a tad better than 50/50 coolant/water mix)

The last resort was either keep the heat on in slow traffic or replace the radiator.
Car now runs cooler by 25-30degrees, ...........................WOW.

Will verify with infared in near future, but infared was so close to my guage reading before, I believe it will be confirmed.

Got a street cruiser in south Florida again.

Thanks DeWitt!!

Tom, my experience with you and your product mirrors that of the letter writer. You may not recall, but back in 2003 when I took possession of my 65 SB, I bought a restoration rad from you, and then emailed you when I went to install it and it simply would not fit - I probably even suggested that there was something wrong with the rad. You were incredibly patient with me, responding immediately, and were available on the phone to help me figure out the issue, and provided measurements, etc. to check. Turned out some long ago prior owner had installed a bottom rad support rail from a BB car, and they have a different pin location - you helped me figure this out. Once I installed the correct core support and then your rad (and addressed a few other issues) the car shed its reputation for "always runs too hot to enjoy" and became a trustworthy driver, even on the hottest days.

And I became a big fan of Tom Dewitt, his product and his personal customer service.
