Some of those vette pics make you cry because of the car, others because you know the driver most likely didn't survive.

For sure. I couldn't imagine some of the stories behind the scene. Some of the pictures do have a story or two. I noticed the Vipers have the largest numbers of submittals that I checked. That should tell ya something....

Brings to mind a Corvette story from 1967 or 68. I was at Richardson Chevy in Houston servicing my 67 427 Vette, and while waiting, I noticed a badly wrecked 1965 Fuelie Convertible in the lot with a show car paint and detail. After checking the car out, I found that the front disc brakes had NO pad material left. They were down into the backing plates (front end accident). I thought "What a waste of money!"
