Default Coupe Question

Does anyone have any suggestions on which contact cement to use and a good method for holding the strip of vinyl under the rear of a coupe window. I have tried interior spray contact adhesive but it does not seem to hold.

I used regular contact cement,DAP, in a can, on my vinyl piece. That's what you need. Although I don't see why the spray didn't work. Maybe the adhesive wasn't dry enough. It should be tacky and appear glossy. The fabric backed vinyl does absorb just enough of the cement, which requires applying the cement a little more liberally than you would on a non porous surface.

I used DAP also to hold my carpet down in those difficult areas like over the wheel well humps.

It worked well to avoid carpet puckering which happens when the new carpet is stiff or has waves in it.

I installed mine with Al Knoch's "Brush on Carpet Glue". Worked great. Had a few puckers when it dried. Hit it with a little heat and rolled it flat. I think you can get glue similar to this at your local hardware store. Before applying the glue to both surfaces I taped the vinyl in place and then did 1/2 at a time.

3M Super 90 spray works great. Do not get the Super 77, useless.
