Anyone know how many tan or gold 63s there were, have not seen any I have a chance to look at and maybe buy a 300hp auto convertable, original motor and trans, non hit body ,good paint what would be a fair offer, is this color rare or even desirable. thanks Mike.

Color is personal choice. You like the tan color, buy the tan color. Personally, I LOVE saddle tan interiors. I have absolutely no use for tan exterior color. Like I said, personal choice.

Price? If it runs and is a decent driver I would guess a minimum of 30 thousand.

Michael, I can't find a definite answer to your question about how many were produced in the RPO 932 Saddle Tan in 1963. It is believed to be less than 2000 cars and that is Coupes and Convertibles combined. The question you ask about how rare? well they are all rare and I would say that a four speed would probably be more desirable but being an all original car it is a hard to replace item. Price? I'm a C1 person but if the car can be bought in the low to mid 40's I would say go for it!(if it's nice enough). I think you were saying in your post that you haven't seen one? If I understand you correctly, you can go to Greg Wyatt's Vintage Corvette's.com and it's the 12th car down the list. I have seen this car in person and it's an all original one owner car from Fla (Nice). I really like saddle tan. This color was also offered in 64 and it's not too far from the 61/62 fawn beige which is one of my favorites. Good Luck and I hope you get your dream car.
Regards,
Scott

There were 1,505, 300hp / Automatic verts made in 63. Apparently it is not known exactly how many were saddle tan. I am pretty sure it was the slowest moving color of the year. The term "rare" is obviously very relative. I would not buy a saddle 63, unless I wanted that color specifically. The limited number may make it easier to resell, but probably won't warrant a premium beyond the true value of the car.

Maybe you'll get some more relative feedback from the others!

Thanks all for your input regarding 63 saddle tan color, espically Scott, I went to Gregg Wyatts Corvettes and there was the car, I have a friend who has a 61 fawn beige fuelie...love that color too... and it is similar. I have a 57 3 speed already so I have no problem with having an automatic, knowing that they are not as popular, but like you all said buy what you like...I always think about resale down the road, don't think I could get to hurt if I can get it for around $30K.

I have a saddle tan/saddle tan '63 vert with a four speed. It is now silver/red.

I saw a saddle tan/ saddle tan '64 auto vert at the 2006 charity auto show in the Reliant stadium here in Houston. It was perfect, but no way would I ever change my car back.
