Default C2 Frame ID help

Can someone tell me from the pics attached what year this C2 frame is from. It's currently on a 64 but I've been told it's not the correct frame. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It is hard to tell from these shots, but at first glance, it looks like a mid-year frame at least...or a decent conversion. Look at the first crossmember to see if there is the indentation for the big block balancer/pulley. That will narrow it down to a 63 or 64 frame...that crossmember is unique to those two years. 65-82 frames all had that additional indentation for a big block. Emergency brake and body mount differences will tell you too if it is either a 63 or 64 frame. It may be a converted C3 frame. You can look to see if there is evidence the kick-up braces were removed or the kick-ups were modified for 64.

If you can get more pictures of those areas, others will be able to give you some help.

OK, i'll bite.... how can you tell, just because the running gear doesn't have disc brakes, that it is not a later frame?

Here's another pic of what I think is a correct 63/64 frame - I circled the 2 additional (body?) mounts that may telling & are not on the frame in my 1st post above.

I think what I 1st posted may be a 67 frame. Again any help is appreciated.

Looks like a 63 64 frame to me. No rear gussets. Can't see the front crossmember.

A C2 frame should have those body mounts you highlighted, but then a C3 will have them too, but not in the same location.

what is the person who tells you this is not the correct frame telling you it is from?

The pics are from a car I was interested in but there aren't any additional pics of the frame, the frame vin stamp, or the front X member. These were taken as part of a restore that was performed on the car.

1st post looks to be a coupe frame, The year is to hard to tell from your pic's. Your 2nd post is a pic of a 63 64 vert frame.

They just indicated a later model. They noticed those body mounts were missing but weren't sure which year frame this actually was. This was a car I was considering purchasing & it was advertised as "numbers matching & original" and priced accordingly. I'm no longer interested for the price but wanted to understand the frame differences as I continue looking for a C2.

Those body mounts are for a vert. If it was a coupe they would be absent.

Those are additional mounts that only show up on convertible cars only. If you have a coupe they will not be on your frame.

Could be a '63 or up to a March '64 frame since after that the gussets were added in the corners. The extra mount would indicate it is a convertible made before March '64.
