And the same type of oiler is on the generator. I didn`t know it was called a "gits" cap though

Maybe because it "gits" oil....

Exactly - have the same thing on my '61 original dual points distrib.

Works "...like an exhaust stack on a semi" ? That's a new one.

Anyone know how often I should be 'oiling' my generator and with what type of oil?

In a sea of whitewalls and big wheel covers,

blackwalls and dog dishes look SERIOUS!

As I said, I wasn't sure but that's what I assumed...

If it's ever been rebuilt it probably has sealed bearings in it in which case oiling would do no good. So I guess without knowing you could give it a squirt every oil change and if it does have sealed bearings no harm done.

Nice car....looks so much like my red/red 1960 283/270 until you get to the tail end. I really like both rear end treatments. Glad to have the old style on my '60 cuz I got the new style on my '66.

From the era when there was something on the cars that needed servicing. 1,500 mile oil changes, lube the chassis every time you changed the oil, tires lasted 7,500 miles, gas was 20¢ a gallon, Coca Cola's were 10¢

Are the small dishes on the first post original? They don't look like other dishes I've seen.

I like the look of the painted wheel and small cover. Does anyone know if someone makes steel wheels in 17" or 18" that the original dish will work on?
