Thanks for the photo's. I'm a C-1 person and I always enjoy looking at every Corvette. Is this car a "Big Brake"? I see it's a 270hp car but the hub caps and black walls indicate big brake. I don't know much about those cars and thought most of them were FI...

That car is a dead ringer for my red on red 61 except mine has the full size wheel covers. Nice shots

Solid colors look great on the early Vettes especially a 61 and goes with the actual trend as only about 30% were originally two tone. Nice car and well taken care of.

just added my 1961 315 car in a 1962 picture. The Dayton knock-off`s were inspired by the Route 66 TV series

Every time someone looks at my solid red 61 they tell me "Aren't the coves supposed to be white?" The reality is that about 70% were solid. Almost 100% are re-painted with a different color for the coves. I think it was a $16.00 option in 61.

Love the solid color, blackwalls, and the smaller hubcaps. Sweet!

The first thing I look at wherever I see one. It almost looks like he was aware of this fact as the steering wheel almost covers the tach red line. But it cant fool one who knows..

And as I said before irregardless , "nice Vette"

This is interesting, does someone have a picture of the Tach that should be in this car?

The tach redline of 5500 would be correct for a 245 HP hydraulic cammed dual quad engine. And thats what appears to be the case. So every thing would be correct unless there was a statement that this was a 270 HP Vette. And I couldn`t find one.

Nothing wrong with a rare 245 car. At least this one.

The 2nd (zadspal) post of this thread mentions 270HP and I don't know where he derived that. The fact that it might not be is what I was trying to point out.

There is nothing wrong WITH any C1 and they are all rare nowadays.

No, but I noticed something on one of the pictures that you might be able to explain. It looks like a steel tubing that is capped off.

Thats a vent tube on the distributor. That little cap flips up inder pressure like an exhaust pipe on a semi tractor.

Nope. Thats the distributor oiler, that lubes the upper mainshaft bushing; the top is called a "gits" cap.
