Just wanted to let everyone know my first experience placing an order with ZIP this past week. The order was for 15 parts worth approx. $450.00 for my 65 vette.
When I decide to order parts I don't like to wait very long to get them. So when I place an order I first make them check to see if the item is in stock. If it's not in stock then I find out how long it's on back order. If it's to long, I move on to another vendor to check availability.
In the past I'd been ordering my stuff from some of the other major Corvette suppliers. On this particular order I'd called at least 3 others, but of course they didn't have most of the items in stock. In some cases they said the items were on back order and didn't know when they would be in. Finally
I contacted ZIP.
Was pleasantly surprised to find Zip had everything in stock. I placed the order late afternoon Tuesday and received it when they said I would receive it by Friday. I couldn't believe it. (Was shipped UPS ground from Mechanicsville, Va to Jax, Fl.) On top of that the order taker J.T. was extremely helpful and their pricing is very competitive. Needless to say I was impressed with ZIP and know who I will call first when I need parts again.
If y'all use them hope your experience the same service I got. It was super.
I also ordered from Zip onling through the forum store. I ordered a set of leaf springs because of the free shipping. They emailed me to say the springs are out of stock and would take a couple of weeks. To my surprise, they arrived four days later.
The price was right and with free shipping I was completely satisfied.
I've always had good service from them. For where i live, I have found that if I order by noon on Wednesday, the parts arrive Friday if they use UPS ground. Plus, they usually have what I need in stock.
I have had great luck with ZIP......check out complete half shaft assy with 2 u joints & flange all assembled & made in :flag USA :flag & Low price $113.50 with Forum discount.............works for me..... :)
Use the forum store (Restoration Store) to order from Zip. I think you get a discount from the catalog price, and if you can believe it - even better (personalized) service. Andy Young is the sales manager for internet sales, a large portion of those are CForum. If you wanted to check availability before ordering you could email him. He checks his email regularly during the day. I have exchanged 3 and 4 emails with him in one day. You know how it can take 4 days to send emails back and forth with some people - not here. MJ
I had only great service from ZIP, ordering by phone or through the restoration store. Orders usually ship the same day! Check the restoration store often for sales and special deals, such as free shipping. (Got me a set of SS trim rings for 60 bux and no shipping recently :D)
I had the same experience as PLAIDSIDE, I ordered a NOAH car cover for my 96 thru the forum store, they e-mailed me promptly that it was out of stock and would be about 2 weeks. 2 days later it was at my front door. :)
Also got my forum discount. So far, I'm very satisfied with ZIP.
I'll echo MNJack. I placed an order at the online corvetteforum store and asked for confirmation that the part was in stock. As we all know, the problem with ordering online is no human can then say, "oh, that part is backordered, do you still want to place the order?" Anyway, Andy Young promptly e-mailed me that the part was in stock and gave an accurate estimate of it's arrival date. Thumbs up!
