Default bolt pattern question

Hey guys,

Probably will seem like a silly question, but what are the actual bolt pattern measurements for a C1 (I have a '58)? Some of the stuff I have seen even says that the measurements aren't actually what the rims are called. I thought C1's hada a 5 by 4 1/2" bolt pattern, but have also seen a 5 by 4 1/2 "ford" bolt pattern. Is this pattern usable on a C1?

I looked through the archives and the internet and can't find anything consistent......

Thanks!!!

remotecontroller,

Not into C1's but for measuring wheels you may come across in general, this site could be helpful to you:

http://crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/..._wheel_pattern.

Read down on this site for specifics on GM vehicles.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jim

Thanks Jim,

Very helpful. On the link, in one area it shows measuring to a line drawn between 2 on the holes on a 5 lug and further down it says measure to the outside of one of the furthest away lug holes. Won't this create a different measurement or will the measurements be close enough to not matter?

thanks,

Ken

Ken,

Apparently, when you are measuring the 5 lug wheels, you would measure from the outside edge of 1 lug hole to the opposite lug hole center line. Here's Tire Rack's web site confirming this also:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=92

Jim

All Chevy C1/2/3 wheels are 5 x 4-3/4".
