Knock-off Wheels

Just an opinion but I would pay the extra and go with the $2,200.00 set. I have a set of bolt ons from Virginia Vettes and the quality, although acceptable, is not 100%.

the color on both sets were not even close to what was on display at the show and are not close to correct.when you are paying a premium for as them you would expect them to be perfect.I would buy the cheaper wheels if all that you are looking for is a knockoff set.90% of the people cannot tell the difference the other 10% think that all the knockoff wheels are the repros any way because there are so few real ones running around out there. If you think that you can tell the difference think about all of the cars that you have seen with knockoff wheels on them and think of which wheels looked real and which looked repro.

Just wondering, did you get any satisfaction from this guy as to why the color wasn't correct? How did the wheel look other than the color? Were there any other problems? This guy claims that his are exact duplicate of the originals.

I've got a set of the natural finish Western Wheels knockoffs (American made) from the late 70's or early 80's I'd ship for $1,000. They're in pretty good shape. One has a ding in the lip, but it doesn't affect performance, and they need the safety (ha ha) pins. I bought them for my '64, but decided this Winter to stick with the original hubcaps instead. I don't have any pics right now, but could snap a few tomorrow.

I was hoping to see some good USA made KH replacement wheels along with some other good stuff at the Charlotte auto fair over the weekend. However it rained all the way up tho the last few hours and I did not feel like wading in mud
Just the same if you are not in a real hurry I would wait and check out some major swap meets........ That is where my KH's were found still in the box (although that was back in 99)

Is it the color of the aluminum itself that is off?

Man, it sounds like, if it is not original kh knock offs nobody is happy.
Does anyone have some pictures to compare?
To me, quality is an issue. These wheels are going on an original owner fuelie.

Is this that same company? I was considering having them restore the entire frame/suspension/undercarriage on my '67. Thumbs down OR ? Any recommendations in CA?
