I have a set of America's Finest bolt on KOs. I don't have anything to compare the color to, but they look great to me. I prefer the thinner profile for the fins, but that's JMHO. As said above I don't think it matters except personal taste since repros will always be repros.

Is this that same company? I was considering having them restore the entire frame/suspension/undercarriage on my '67. Thumbs down OR ? Any recommendations in CA?
Yes, the company is the same, in Ramona, CA. My only experience with them is buying one part, a 15/16" front sway bar, which looks correct.

I just did some research on current prices:
Virginia Vettes $1599
Corvette America $2000
Americas Finest $2950
Corvette Central $1850
Ecklers $1899

Do they all come from the same manufacturer?

I can't say for sure if they are all from the same manufacturer (But, I would bet they are, since how many different Chinamen are likely to take on the cost of making a mold and then manufacturing another brand of Mid-Year KO Bolt-on Wheels specific to each year to compete for sales, especially when there is such a small demand anyway?).

So, if KO's are what you want, then it realy just boils down to price & year preference. I personally have been very happy with my Virginia Vette Direct Bolt-ons I've had over a year, no problems whatsoever. I bought their set (4 wheels w/complete hardware set; cones, spinners, lug nuts, etc.) on V.V.'s E-Bay "Buy It Now" page for $1,511, and they arrived in about a week and mounted fine.

So unless you now have, or can afford original Kelsey-Hayes wheels (or for that matter, even find any decent ones for sale), then I would recommend these.

Default KO's for sale

I'm resto-modding my 65 coupe and am replacing the KO's with bigger wheels and tires. They are the correct color for 1965.

I am selling my KO's for $1,000 plus shipping. The wheels are perfect. One spinner is new and the others have minor scars from someone removing with the wrong tool. Includes (4) WHEELS, (4) ADAPTERS, (4) SPINNERS,
(4) CAPS, AND (20) CHROME LUG NUTs.

I bought my coupe with these wheels and am sure they are aftermarket. I purchased one new spinner from Corvette Central.

You PM me if interested.

Default Supposed ' perfect' repro

Check out Cranes Corvettes in San Diego just google Cranes Corvette
they have original KH's for sale if you want to pay the big $$ ..
They have bolt on's and knock off's their ' correct' bolt ons ' are $2700
and are supposedly true to the original KH design .. They have a lot of parts listed on the website so search around for the wheel section..

also worth knowing about if you need other things Ie Full Tri-Power setup for your 427 , convertible frames etc etc..

Crane is selling the "America's Finest Corvettes" wheels. There are only two manufacturers - Corvette America (which are sold by all the usual vendors), and AFC.

Tom E. You wheels look great. I need a set for a 64, and do not want to spend a mint on the k-h.

JohnZ If this is true, that is great info. Now, I can narrow the choices down specifcally by price offered.

Thanks for the help!!!

straydog and other members on this thread, I called the owner of this set, and asked for pics and an update. Assuming that two of the four tires are in need to be changed, is this a good price for true western wheels?

thanks!

How was/is the quality of the overall wheel, itself? .. Since I have a '64 I was looking to purchase the unpainted version bolt-on KO wheels.

How hard can it be to get the color right on the painted version wheels? ..

Default KO"s For Sale

This set is still For Sale. Will dis-mount the new tires for a discounted price if you someone's interested ? It's a shame to waste the $$$ mounting & balancing.

Default C2 Knock-off wheels

Where is a good place to buy?
Thanks
I got the bolt-on knock-offs from America's Finest Corvettes about 8 months ago and am very happy with them. I was at a show this weekend and was next to a C2 with the cheaper knock-offs and mine looked much better in a side-by-side comparison. The guys at AFC have been great to work with.

I bought the bolt on KO's from VV and am VERY happy with them and VV... Are they a perfect match for the originals? Nope, close. The AFC's to me are NOT worth the extra $$$... They're both made from the same hunk of aluminum...
