'67 Ignition switch question...
Is your ignition key the correct 1967 B&S octagon head "A" key or is it something different? Is the key still sharp or is it smooth/worn?
For 1967, the key should not be removable in the ACC position; but on some of the earlier Corvette models it could be removed. Is is possible that you have an earlier ignition switch and key?

Check your square head ignition key to see if it has a small "A" stamped on the shaft just below the head. Also check to see if the key opens both door locks as it should. If your key has an "A" and opens both doors, it is likely the correct key code cut into one of the later, replacement square-head key blanks.
Assuming it is the correct key code, you can buy a original or reproduction 1967 Briggs and Stratten octagon head "A" key from one of the corvette suppliers such as Corvette Central or LICS (Long Island Corvette Supply), or on E-bay; and then have a local LOCKSMITH cut you a new, correct key using your old key as a guide. If your square head key has the four character GM key code stamped into the key, that is all the locksmith needs. Then try it in the ignition. A new key that is not worn (out) may solve your problem. If not, you can remove the ignition lock cylinder and take it to the same locksmith to have new tumblers/internals installed. That should fix it.
If you cannot find a old-time locksmith in your area to put new tumblers into the ignition lock, e-mail me and I will provide you names of some folks who can help.
Another option is to purchase a new ignition lock with new key. LICS has this for sale in their catalog. However, then you either buy new door locks with the same matching key, or learn to live with multiple keys.
An excellent article about B&S locks and keys, including repair/replacement and keying information is available on the camaro website at http://www.camaros.org/keysandlocks.shtml
Hope this helps. Larry
