Default 65 BB Temperature Sending Unit Question

I am restoring a 65 BB car which was produced in the later part of the production year. That means both the radiator inlet and the inatke manifold thermostat housing are curved. The curving of the thermostat housing causes very little clearance for the sending unit. I have two. One design has a flat head for a connector to slide on the from side. The other has two 90 tongue terminals protruding upward. The connector would then come down vertically. I am uncertain which one is the correct one. Could someone give me some guidance?

The thermostat housing for your application is in fact "curved", BUT there also should be a spacer between the housing & the intake manifold. The use of this spacer allows clearance for the temperature sender.
You can find it on Long Island Corvette's web site under 21-05G.

The correct temperature sensor will have a round head which will accept the terminal of the wire.

Thanks. I have both the curved thermostat housing and the spacer. I know that with the housing and the spacer, there isn't enough clearance for the sending unit with the two tongue terminals. I guess I made a mistake buying that one on eBay.
