I've never seen any carpet dye at any of the big corvette suppliers. I think you have to look elsewhere, check this link

It goes by "Interior Dye". All the major corvette suppliers should have it. Here's one: http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/prod...6180476E8A6058

I've used Rit fabric dye on carpet with good results. You can get it at fabric stores. It doesn't make the carpet hard and brittle feeling like some of the vinyl or interior dyes, which are actually more like paint.

The interior dye isn't "perfect" - install new carpet for that - but if you apply a light mist, brush it in with a "scrub brush", and then let dry a bit before next coat you can get decent results.

Those interior dyes that they sell in the big vette houses are really for interior trim, leather, vinyl etc and are like paint. I'd stick with a carpet or fabric dye if you don't want it to feel rough.

I tried to spruce up my faded dark blue carpeting with the standard corvette sprays. Didn’t like the results. It did make the carpet feel hard and the sun fading came back (dye must have worn away?). Next time, replace the carpet.

I've got black carpets, and I've used the liquid-type shoe polish that has the sponge applicator tip on my jack-cover carpet. The colour is good and deep, it doesn't feel rough, and has not faded yet. You might want to give that a try if you can get the right colour, the price is right and it's available anywhere.

Ive got a 70 Chevelle Conv. that had good but faded carpets. My wife suggested RIT dye, I used it and it worked great. Its now 2 years later and they still look new. Unusual advice, ask your wife!
