Dash Pad Install
I'm replacing the dash pads now in the '66. The old ones are out (note on that below), the dash board and IP are cleaned up and ready.
The new pads are going to require some pressure to line the holes up for the clips, especially the drivers side. Does anyone recommend a sequence for installing the clips so I don't walk myself into a situation where I cannot get the last few sets of holes to line up? (I could not find anything in the archives.)
The note: I'd noticed in the archives that many of you recommended pulling the entire dash shell from the car, especially to facilitate removing the clips in the "center stack" area. I found instead that by cutting away the outer skin on the old pads, that the back side of the clip was accessible. It was then just a squeeze of the pliers and the clips fell out. (Of course the old pad is trash when you're done!) I'll post a pic if anyone is interested.
