I am trying to use the stock 327 throttle return bracket that bolts to the front 2 driver side intake bolts. Any issues with just removing those two bolts, installing bracket and then torqeing them back down?
Not really a problem. You can unbolt those 2 bolts without much worry.
1. But I wouldn't do it when the engine's hot. Those 2 bolts are next to a coolant passage. No sense in stressing the gasket at that point under pressure.
2. The 1st bolt in goes into a blind hole in the head. However the second one in goes into the intake manifold valley. Many people report oil migrating up those holes and collecting on the top of the intake manifold. Usually the 2 bolts directly under the carb. But all the intake manifold bolts, except the 4 at the corners, goes into the intake manifold valley. Because of the oil problem, many people insert the bolts with thread sealer. When you remove the second bolt in, you may disturb this sealer. If so, you'll want to replace it when you re-insert it.
