Hi Jim, after doing some "measuring" it turns out a Q-Jet had been adapted, probably some sort of "cheater" in some class racing.
Just took the dimensions and it's definitely NOT a 4500 nor does it like like any factory mod!
My son just dropped it off by me, I didn't get a close up look earlier, now I see what was done.
Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. Still would like to I.D. original application, can't identify that part number (3963647)!! In the photo, the lower right corner has the casting number super-imposed!

Not 1966
It's not a 1966 casting, as there are no tapped holes in the coolant runner at the front of the manifold. There are 2 untapped bosses. GM started putting the temperature gauge sending units in the cylinder heads with the 1968 models. I would suspect that the manifold is a service part cast in 1976 possibly for a 454. The service part probably had a completely different part number than the OEM unit it replaced. What is the casting date---you never gave it.

RON
Hi Ron, there's no choke provision either. No "boss" to mount the choke!
The only piece I have here now to compare it to is an intake from a '69 Yenko resto (#3933163) with a date on the underside of 05 11 9. The same numbers on the bottom of the 3963647 is 7 11 6. I would have to assume this is the date!
Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. It's most definitely a "high-rise" style intake, not the later "pancake" type!
Here is one that I brought home back in the early 80's from the junk yard. It is a 9-27-65 dated square port. Kicking myself for not bringing more home and stashing them back then And wondering what I left there to be crushed.

I have the exact manifold, only the plenum has not been cut out, has only one set of carb stud holes, and it is dated 7 16 69.
I sent this info and photos to Joe Lucia (NCRS numbers/parts wizzard) a few years ago, and he could not identify it.
